I’m an art historian with a passion for traveling. Since I was a child I have always enjoyed discovering new places and new cultures. I studied at the University of Palermo and I then specialized in Medieval Art at the University of Siena. I mainly focused on sacred iconography, specifically that of Byzantine mosaics. But I don’t hide my love for the Baroque and Art Nouveau. I have worked at different museums and I have had the chance to meet visitors from all over the world, lucky enough to have a peek at other realities. Besides art, my other great passion is food, I truly believe that you can’t fully understand a place without "tasting” a piece of it. During my tours, I will always try to convey these passions and the love I feel towards my wonderful Sicily.

Warm & Knowledgeable Tour Guide
My husband & I had a fabulous tour with Roberta yesterday! We loved learning about Palermo from a local & an art historian. She gave us a wonderfully curated introduction to Arab-Norman plus Baroque art, architecture & history in Sicily. She was so knowledgeable & warm that the day was fun & informative. Best of all, when we went exploring other sites on our own today, we found ourselves referring to things Roberta shared with us the day before. In addition, she was very generous with suggestions for food, sightseeing & the like. We are already booking other tours with Uncovered Sicily as we visit the rest of the island!

TOUR IN PALERMO
We had a wonderful morning with Roberta learning about the Byzantine art in Palermo. Probably our best experience because of how much she knew especially about the mosaics and how lively and warm she was.
