Lucia

After my degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Sicily, I moved to Rome for three years and studied at the "Pontificio Istituto di Archeologia Cristiana". In the past years I’ve been involved in archaeological research activities in Rome, Apulia, Corsica and Sicily - of course! I decided to combine field research with tourist activity and promotion. I’m always delighted to share the splendour and incredibly diverse heritage of south-eastern Sicily. I love to showcase our awesome archaeological sites, captivating cities and stunning scenery with travelers from all over the world by offering customized itineraries. I have two children who enthusiastically explore and uncover their own Sicilian heritage. Their curiosities, perspectives and imaginative ways of looking at our incredible island through young eyes helps me to develop my bespoke tours and experiences for children and families. I invite you to come and see for yourself...!

Reviews for Lucia

Wonderful tour in Siracusa
We learnt such a great deal about the history and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the tour but in particular, thought the catacombs were incredible as was the cathedral of Santa Lucia. We really appreciated Lucia’s brilliant skill as a guide and very much enjoyed her company. Thanks to you as well for all of the excellent organisation.

An Introduction to Syracuse
Lucia was such a great guide, and you can tell she is passionate about her hometown of Ortigia. We toured the historic sites - the Neapolis Archaelogical Park, etc. - but we also did so much more than that. Lucia asked us if we would be interested in walking through the market, and when we said yes, she not only walked us through but also explained different Sicilian foods and introduced us to friends of hers in the market. We learned so much from Lucia, and obviously, she took the extra step of teaching us about different things that we were interested in and did not limit our tour to the history of Siracusa.

Tour of Ortigia
We had a wonderful tour with Lucia on Uncovered Sicily. Her knowledge of the relics of Ortigia was vast and her PhD in art history and passion for the subject matter was clear. We learned so much from our walk with her. One highlight was seeing the Jewish baths and the WWII bomb shelter beneath a cathedral in the Jewish ghetto. She was also great company and gave us recommendations on where to eat and shop.
