I’m an art historian. My passion for history and art has been a part of me ever since I was a child, so studying History of Art at the University of Palermo came as a natural choice. I specialized in the art and history of the Eastern Roman Empire, the Muslim world and the Normans of Sicily, populations that have always fascinated me and somehow feel like part of my own identity.
Being a tour guide is not only a job for me, but also an opportunity to live this land in all of its facets with even greater intensity. Rather than showing Sicily as in a postcard setting, I prefer to parade my land in all of her nuances, including the most negative and contradictory ones, for my guests to fully understand and love this island. Every journey should leave seeds in our hearts that may blossom into reflections on our own origins – after all, when you know your past, you can uncover who you are in the present and can stride forward into your future...
