Neapolis Archaeological Park and Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum

The old district of Neapolis, which houses one of the greatest urban archaeological parks in Italy today, includes some of the most important Greek and Roman monuments of the city, such as the Greek theater, the latomies (ancient quarries), the Altar of Iero II, the Grotticelli Necropolis and the Roman amphitheater. Our archaeological walking tour through the ancient history of Syracuse will continue inside the Museum “Paolo Orsi”, which houses most of the prehistoric, classical and late-antique finds discovered in Syracuse and middle-eastern Sicily.
