The red colors of the countryside of Pachino

The southern end of Sicily, which was known by the name of Promontorium Pachyni during ancient times, represents one of the excellent areas in the agricultural backdrop of the island. Several factors render it so exceptional: the strength of the most intense solar irradiance in the Old Continent, the right salinity in irrigation water, sun exposition, the composition and texture of the soil. These factors characterise the organoleptic properties of popular products such as the Tomatoes of Pachino and the grapes used to make the Nero d’Avola wine.

The white limestone hills surrounding Pachino will be the background to our private guided tour. The bright red of the cherry tomatoes of Pachino together with the intense colour of the PDO Eloro Pachino will be the absolute protagonists of our food&wine tour.

We will start the tour from a farm specialized in the production and processing of sun-dried tomatoes, where we will enjoy a small tasting itinerary. After a pleasant walk among vineyards and an immersion to a winery, we will sit around a table to taste the most important wines of the area.
