Mozia and Marsala. On the route of Phoenicians

This private day tour will take you on the Phoenicians’ route in the westernmost tip of Sicily. This part of the island, which bathes in the soft light of unique sunsets, features salt pans, windmills, and wineries for making the famous Marsala wine.

We will first reach the small island of Mozia, which enshrines the remains of an ancient Phoenician city in the middle of a lagoon. We will then visit the salt pans at Stagnone to learn about the ancient Sicilian tradition of sea-salt production.

Our cultural guided tour will continue at the Archaeological Museum "Baglio Anselmi" of Marsala, that preserves the wreck of a Punic ship dating back to the 3rd century BC and is housed in a former 19th-century winery.

We will conclude our expert-led tour with a pleasant stroll in the charming old town center of Marsala, where you will have the opportunity to taste the delicious wines of this region.
