Sambuca di Sicilia, the authenticity of Sicani Mountains among shepherds and winemakers

Heading beyond the coast of south-western Sicily, along the Belice Valley, we arrive at Sambuca di Sicilia - a small hilly town dominated by scenery worthy of a painting. Here, among vineyards that plunge into a small pond and lush olive groves that merge with fields of golden wheat, our private food and wine tour to discover this unspoiled corner of the Sicani Mountains starts.

It is in this pristine environment and micro-climate that the sheep graze at the dairy farm that we will visit. Here, for decades, the skilled hands of a local family have been transforming sheep's milk into the exceptional dairy products typical of this area.

Then, led by our expert guide, we will visit those who have ventured to the slopes of the highest peak of this area, Mount Genuardo, to make wines. In this setting, close to a forest, the idea of creating vibrant white wines and refined reds from native grape varieties has matured. Now, many experts in the enology field talk about them.
