In the hilly landscape made of chalk and limestone, where the sun spreads its energy over fruit and souls, we will meet two Sicilian families. They will show us what it means "to be Sicilian", how to put love, purity, and genuineness into products that come from the earth and have been their family tradition for generations, so rare nowadays that they seem almost new.
We are in the southwestern corner of Sicily, a land once chosen by the Sicani and the Greeks for its fertile land. The private food&wine tour will lead us on a leisurely walk through a magnificent olive grove of native cultivars that embraces the family’s historic farmhouse. We will then move on to a charming tasting room, where we will enjoy sampling several monovarietal olive oils, each rich in character and expression. Finally, this family’s “green gold” will accompany and enhance a selection of local specialties.
We will then head to a young couple's dream place made of vineyards, wine, and family, set in an ancient noble manor among the grapes that represent Sicily in the world: Nero d'Avola, Grillo, and more. At the table, between one sip of wine and another, enjoying local recipes and friendly chat, we will conclude this journey of Agrigento’s excellence.
