Archaeological and landscape tour. Taormina, Isola Bella and Giardini Naxos bay

This cultural guided tour will bring you to discover one of the most beautiful and famous coasts in Italy.

We will start our private day tour in the so-called “Pearl of the Jonian Sea”, Taormina, that hides treasures of a glorious past: the Aphrodite’s Temple, the Roman Thermal Baths, the Odeon, the Medieval Cathedral, the Palazzo Corvaja and the Greek-Roman theater, symbol of the town for its enchanting position overlooking the Naxos bay and Etna, one of the most breathtaking spot in Sicily, described and painted by many writers and artists for centuries.

After Taormina, we will reach the shore located at its feet. Here we will admire a small island whose white rocks disappear into the cobalt blue sea. Isola Bella is attached to the coast only through a strip of thin sand. Moreover, it hides a peculiar and bizarre villa.

Finally, we will head south to Baia di Schisò in Giardini Naxos. Here a thick sandy beach and a clear and transparent sea welcome thousands of people each year. Such an enchanting landscape at the feet of Mount Etna must have struck the Greek sailors that founded Naxos, which represented the first Greek city in Sicily in 734 BC. Its ruins can still be seen within the big Archaeological Park in Giardini Naxos.
