Archaeological and landscape tour. Taormina, Isola Bella and Giardini Naxos bay

This cultural guided tour will take you to discover one of the most beautiful and renowned coastlines in Italy.

We will begin our private day tour in Taormina, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Ionian Sea”. This enchanting town holds treasures from a glorious past: the Temple of Aphrodite, the Roman Thermal Baths, the Odeon, the Medieval Cathedral, Palazzo Corvaja, and the iconic Greek-Roman Theater, a true symbol of Taormina. Set in a spectacular position overlooking Naxos Bay and Mount Etna, the theater is considered one of the most breathtaking spots in Sicily, celebrated for centuries by writers and artists alike.

After exploring Taormina, we will descend to the coastline at its feet, where we’ll admire Isola Bella, a tiny island of white rocks surrounded by the deep cobalt sea. Connected to the mainland only by a thin strip of sand, this unique islet also hides a peculiar and fascinating villa.

Our journey will then continue south to the Bay of Schisò in Giardini Naxos. Here, a wide sandy beach and crystal-clear waters attract visitors year after year. This captivating landscape, lying at the foot of Mount Etna, is likely what first enchanted the Greek sailors who founded Naxos, the earliest Greek colony in Sicily, established in 734 BC. The ruins of this ancient city can still be explored within the large Archaeological Park of Giardini Naxos.
