Fascinating private trekking tour during which you will understand the destructive power of Mount Etna. Indeed, we will start from “Piano Provenzana”, whose buildings were totally rebuilt after the 2002 eruption.
Following the path to the crater summit, we will then walk one hour to arrive at the 2002 craters. Here, we’ll admire “Monte Nero” and its gorgeous desert of lava stone. We’ll finish our excursion at the “Timparossa Refuge”.
Activity level: The excursion does not present any particular difficulties. It is graded Easy to Medium – on the condition that participants do not present any respiratory condition or other significant health problems like high blood pressure.
When: Excursion feasible from April to early November.
Altitude: The altitude reached is around 1800 meters.
